Core Curriculum (Blended Learning)
Blended Learning Approach
The comprehensive rigorous National Standards based curriculum using the Blended Learning concept will be the basis of the teaching method. Blended Learning is a formal education program in which a student learns at least in part through an online delivery approach of content and teacher instruction. Blended Learning leads to deeper approaches to learning, uses high level critical thinking skills, and integrated and reflective thinking.
The curriculum will be enhanced through project based lifelong learning experiences to develop well rounded adults and prepare them for 21st century skills. There will be a range of solutions from K-12 for credits leading to graduation requirements set by the Kentucky Department of Education. These solutions include all levels of ability from college prep, honors, and AP classes that will also prepare them for the next generation testing.
Also enhancing the curriculum are courses designed for the overall well-being of the student such as: drama, fitness and wellness, global languages and cultures. We will also offer travel, field trips, and outdoor activities for enrichment.
Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
The curriculum for each student will be guided by his Individual Learning Plan (ILP). Every student will have a plan formulated for his own interests and abilities. This ILP will help guide the process along with input from staff and parents.
